Clarity Informatics
The Clarity Informatics Group (UK company registration number 06648026) consists
of three companies; the Sowerby Centre for Health Informatics at Newcastle (SCHIN),
Clarity Informatics Ltd and a Middle Eastern subsidiary.
Our vision has always been to provide services that the NHS considers to be high
quality, beyond reproach and value for money. SCHIN is a not-for-profit company.
However, not-for-profit status does not facilitate effective commercial arrangements,
innovative development through investment and work that anticipates NHS service
needs – the Clarity Informatics Group was our solution.
SCHIN was formed in 1993, originally as an academic research organization within
the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. It has established itself as a centre of
large scale, evidence-based, knowledge authoring and many other significant and
innovative health informatics projects for the NHS. SCHIN became a private company,
limited by guarantee, in 2001 (UK company registration number 04210296).
Clarity Informatics Ltd (previously known as i4u Ltd – UK company registration number
04133376) provides the same levels of service and innovative products to the commercial
world. Through Clarity Informatics the group has achieved several commercial awards
including:
- 2005 DTI Small Business Service Exceptional R&D Award
- 2007 Tyneside and Northumberland Business Award for Technology
- 2007 North East Business Award for Technology
- 2007 NECC – The Microsoft Impact of Technology award
- 2007 British Chamber of Commerce – Impact of Technology award – National Finalist.
